1) Do I need an email account to enrol on the Virtual College? ~
Yes, as all contact with your personal tutor is maintained via email it is essential that you have an account. You can set up free accounts with providers such as gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail.

2) Who do I make the cheque for course fees payable to?
Please make your cheque payable to Coleg Sir Gâr and write your cheque guarantee details on the reverse. All cheques should be posted to Virtual College, Coleg Sir Gar, Sandy Road, Llanelli SA15 4DN.

3) What software will I need?
This depends on the course you choose to take. For most courses you will require Windows XP or Windows 7, and you will need Office 2003, 2007, or 2010. You will need a computer or laptop with access to the internet and you will also need a working email address. We now also have a selection of courses for iwork, 2011 or googledrive users.

4) Are there any concessions for old age or people receiving benefits?
Unfortunately there are no concessions for part time students.

5) How do I contact my personal tutor for help?
All contact with personal tutors is via email. You will be given their email address when we enrol you.

6) Is there a time limit on finishing my course?
Yes. You are allowed 5 weeks per 10 hour unit. Also, you may lose access if you don't access your course for a period of 28 days. Please read the ECDL FAQ's for time limits on ECDL or ECDL Advanced.

7) What should I do if I fall behind with my course?
If you contact your personal tutor and explain your circumstances he / she will organise a study break for you and if necessary arrange an extension.

8) What happens if I do not complete my course at the end of the academic year?
Each learner must re-enrol (if the programme of study is not completed) from August of the new academic year. You will be prompted by your tutor to fill in a re-enrolment form that simply needs printing out and signing before sending to the Virtual College with payment. You will be informed if you are required to pay anything – this depends on the time of year that you originally enrolled in.

9) What happens if I do not complete my course at the end of my calendar year?
Each learner must pay £25 per unit that they have not managed to complete, or if they have not finished their course but wish to carry on. This will allow them a further calendar year in which to complete.

10) When do the courses start?
Courses normally start on the first Monday of each month.

11) What is the minimum age to be able to do a course with www.virtualcollege.ac.uk?
The minimum age to do any course with us is 16 years.

12) Can I pay by Postal Order?
Unfortunately no.
