Digital Literacy

Digital Literacy

This level 4 unit is designed to support practitioners in the development of new teaching and assessment styles that embrace the six digital literacy pillars. The purpose of the unit is not to develop the subject specific knowledge required to deliver the Digital Literacy Essential Skill Qualification as covered in Agored Cymru Level 3 Certificate for Essential Skills Practitioners ( ) but to further develop your knowledge of digital literacy and to reflect on teaching practices. The use of controlled experiments is strongly recommended and feedback from new teaching styles and strategies should be shared within this course in order to celebrate best practice.

It is assumed that as an experience practitioner with a PGCE qualification that you already have a deep understanding of teaching, learning, assessment and the pedagogies associated with successful content delivery within your own subject area. Therefore many of the learning resources in this area will introduce a range of digital skills, applications and platforms for consideration which you can then embed into either your existing teaching practice or within newly timetabled subjects.

This 6 Credit Level 4 unit carries 60 Guided Learning Hours and at minimum 20 hours should be allocated for the completion of the written tasks at the end of this online resource
